Eric Floranda, MD

Dr. Eric Floranda finished his Neuromuscular Medicine fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio in 2008. He has performed numerous electromyography and nerve conduction studies and has clinical experience in neuromuscular diseases for both in-patient and out-patient settings. He has trained in quantitative sudomotor axon reflex testing (QSART), skin biopsy for intraepidermal nerve fiber analysis, and muscle and nerve pathology.

Dr. Floranda completed Neurology residency at the University of Connecticut in Hartford, Connecticut in 2007, wherein he also served as Neurology Chief Resident. Previously, he spent two years in Internal Medicine training at the Mt. Sinai School of Medicine in Jersey City, New Jersey. Dr. Floranda graduated from the University of the Philippines with a Doctor of Medicine in 2001.

He is board certified in Neurology and Neuromuscular Medicine by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and board certified by the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine. He is a member of the American Academy of Neurology and the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine.

Dr. Floranda’s specialty interests include electromyography, myopathies, generalized polyneuropathies, small-fiber neuropathies, motor neuron disorders and myasthenia gravis.

Dr. Floranda is on the medical staff at Calvert Memorial Hospital.
